Introducing Two Brothers Lounge & Stage

Filed under: News — two brothers @ 7:28 pm

We are thrilled to announce the long-awaited opening of our new live music venue, Two Brothers Tavern Lounge & Stage, located beneath Two Brothers Tavern on Main Street in Middlebury.

We purchased the space in August, 2007 and have since been working with architects, engineers and contractors to completely redefine it. The extensive renovations include a crescent-shaped mahogany bar, wood-paneled walls, a concrete floor with bamboo inlays, updated restrooms, large-screen TVs, a new pool table and a lounge section complete with sofas and coffee tables. The result is at once contemporary and classic.

Our vision was to create a welcoming space where patrons of all ages and from all walks of life could gather to dance, listen to music or just lounge with friends. Middlebury needed a place where it felt comfortable doing that. We think we’ve succeeded. We are very proud of how it turned out!

The space will function as our primary live music venue, although music will continue to be offered upstairs on occasion. We are thrilled to finally have enough space to bring in artists from around New England that until now we haven’t had enough room to host - from jazz and rock to DJs and karaoke. We’ve already been in touch with many performers who frequently play at venues such as Red Square and Nectar’s in Burlington, to deliver the diversity of the Burlington music scene to the Middlebury audience. We hope that the assortment and new atmosphere will appeal to music-lovers of all ages.

Two Brothers Lounge & Stage features a full-bar and dining - offering a limited version of the Two Brothers menu, including burgers, sandwiches, salads and small plates. Further, the new space will be able to offer those things that Two Brothers Tavern does not have room for, such as dancing and pool.

Response so far has been outstanding! We look forward to sharing it with you. Please see our entertainment listings for exciting upcoming events.

Two Brothers Lounge & Stage is open 5pm-2am seven days a week.

2007 Hometown Homerun Club Leaders

Filed under: News, Hometown Homerun Club — two brothers @ 12:00 pm

Congratulations to our top Hometown Homerun Club leaders as of July 16! 2007 has seen a record-breaking 108 members in the Hometown Homerun Club. This is due, in part, to the fact that Yankees fans finally have their own division of the Club. Now Yankee fans earn points for Red Sox-oponent homeruns, and vise versa. Of course, Boston and New York fans still earn points for homeruns hit by their team. All members earn an entry into the drawing for two tickets to Fenway Park on Saturday, September 1 for every 10 homeruns they witness - so each member listed below is eligible at least once. The competition is fierce, and the rivalry is as alive as ever. Good luck to all!

1) Sherman Bennett - 54
2) Mike Smith - 34
3) Ted Hirdler - 25

NEW 58″ TV and Espresso Machine

Filed under: News — two brothers @ 5:29 pm

We took a few days last week to improve ourselves, and are happy to announce the addition of a new 58″ high-definition plasma tv and an espresso machine! We are very proud to offer both of these to our valued patrons. Below the television you’ll notice some beautiful new cabinetry behind the bar, which was created by the masterful hand of our dart player, performer and friend Bill Wright. We welcome your feedback on these, and all other, aspects of Two Brothers. Thank you for your patience while we were closed last week. We look forward to the opportunity to serve you again soon.

4th Annual Frank Nisun Day - January 6, 2007!

Filed under: News — two brothers @ 12:16 pm

Just when you thought the holidays were over comes the best holiday of all…Frank Nisun Day! What started as sort of a mock-celebration honoring a favorite Two Brothers patron, has turned into the best example of small-town camraderie and local color that Vermont has to offer. Join the 4th Annual Frank Nisun Day festivities for free food, t-shirts, and the chance to meet Frank. If reveling all day, making up fake holidays and celebrating our own is wrong - we don’t want to be right. The fun kicks off at 11am…

Congratulations to our Patriots Ticket Winners!

Filed under: News, Touchdown Club — two brothers @ 8:18 pm

Congratulations to Sarah Durant who, by having witnessed the most touchdowns by the time of our drawing (a remarkable 95 TDs), automatically won a pair of tickets to this Sunday’s Patriots game vs. the Texans - their last home game of the season! Touchdown Club members Mike Smith (47 TDs) and Julie Tilson (18 TDs) were awarded the other two pairs of tickets. Unfortunatley, Julie Tilson will be unable to attend the game, so the tickets went to first-alternate John MacIntyre (15 TDs) - who happily accepted them. Enjoy the game, and have a beer for those of us watching at the Tavern. A reminder that the Touchdown Club does not end here…the chase for the trophy continues through the SuperBowl!
